Days have passed since my victorious lap around Bay Farm Island and back on Sunday. I’m still considering myself “recovering” from that experience. But it’s also interesting to notice how quickly recovering morphs into stasis.
Tra la la.
Had a little shot of inspiration today in the form of some bike blogger camaraderie. Someone found my blog and rolled me — Yay! Now this means I have to keep up my bicycling. (You thought I was going to extend the blog roll metaphor into some clever phrase about keeping rolling along. So did I. Oh well.)
I want to keep biking, I will keep biking. (Say this to self repeatedly with thick Russian accent. It helps. This is a reference to the text of the guided meditation my first Russian teacher — in Russia — used to motivate my class each day; substitute “speak Russian” for biking.)
And for those of you keeping up with the other areas of my life that suddenly are in motion, the show on Saturday went great. I hope to have some photos or video for you soon. And, here are my latest SFist posts:

Da! ‘merican girl must continue riding peoples’ transport device and recording impressions on capitalistic blog. Seriously, keep it up; your writing is great and you provide insight on getting started.

Spacibo balshoya moi droog (thank you my friend)!
Just for fun, here is the text of the guided meditation, verbatim — from my old notes from Leningrad, 1989:
Meditatsia
Relax the muscles of your legs, start with your foot. Then relax your hands and arms. Put down your shoulders. Close your eyes. Relax the muscles of your face. Be quiet.
Imagine the face of a sleeping child.
I am quiet. I feel still. I am having rest. My body is having rest. My soul, everything, is in order. Breathe quietly. The rhythm of your heart is even, your heart is beating even.
I am quiet, I feel excellent. I am thinking about nothing. Nothing worries me.
Imagine green color. Forest. Trees, leaves, grass, lake, river, sea. Imagine everything is blue. Imagine the blue sky.
Your right hand, it is heavy. It lies heavy on your knee. Your right hand is hot. Imagine you are putting it into warm water. You feel the water pricking the tips of your fingers.
We had a wonderful rest. We want to work. We want to speak Russian. We will speak Russian.
Picture red color. Fire. We are going up in the elevator. Yellow wall, with black buttons. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Open your eyes. Stand up.
