Hello, I’ve just started bike riding, practically for the first time in my life, and I’m pretty excited about it. I don’t have a great history with exercise. Mostly, I tend to overdo it and get injured. A risky combination of enthusiasm and lack of actual skill usually to blame. So starting with a 3-month training for a 100-mile ride may not be the brightest idea. I’ll keep you posted.
By the way, I live in Oakland. And my husband Scott is an avid bicyclist who somehow could never get me on a bike before February 14, 2007. He’s pretty excited about all of this. And he claims that though he is very fast, he will ride slow in order to keep me company.
If I stop riding, I’ll start a blog about something else. Probably knitting, improv, or food, or all three combined.
(Update: I’ve decided to post pics of my knitting on a separate page in this blog, because: Why not? The two obsessions are in parallel nascent stages, so it sort of makes sense…)
(Update #2: I’ve got all of my interests (food, knitting, improv) in the blog now. Falling as both action and metaphor.

Way to go, girl. As I recall walking in your neighborhood, biking it will be a challenge…but a good one! Take it slow, build up strength and don’t fall down. I did that yest. and the black eyes will be with me for a while. Sigh. Take care.

Sorry to hear about Liebe. I am praying for her hand to heal. Keep on doing what you are doing! It will work!
